Why I Start With the Problem, Not the Solution
Meet Suzette
I'm Suzette, and I help owner-led service businesses find and fix the right problem first.
I’ve spent over 20 years in IT service operations and software delivery before founding Zettee. Most of that time was inside businesses where the gap between what was promised and what actually got delivered turned out to be an operations problem, not a technical one.
Across those years, I kept seeing the same pattern. Growing businesses invested in software, automation, AI, or more staff before understanding what was actually slowing them down. Sometimes those investments solved the problem, or they didn't, and the real constraint kept compounding underneath.
I started Zettee Consulting to help owners step back, find the highest-impact opportunity, and make the next decision with confidence. That's the approach I bring to every Business Momentum Assessment.
A Pattern I've Seen Up Close
Before Zettee, a long-time first major corporate account was finally on the verge of walking. Repeated service failures had worn down trust, and the account was one conversation away from ending.
The stated problem was technical, but the real problem was operational. Work kept slipping, ownership was unclear, and no one had a single honest picture of what was actually breaking.
I started by listening at every level before changing a thing. Then I built one prioritized view of what was broken, why, and what to fix first. From there we rebuilt accountability and put an operating rhythm in place that the team could actually run.
The outcome: repeated service failures dropped by roughly 80 percent, the at-risk relationship was retained, and the systems stayed in place after the engagement ended.
That is the same sequence behind every assessment I run. Understand first. Prioritize second. Fix third.
What Makes Zettee Different
I believe the most expensive business mistake isn't choosing the wrong solution. It's solving the wrong problem.
As businesses grow, complexity grows with them. The systems and processes that worked yesterday don't always support the next stage. Priorities compete for attention, progress slows, and it gets harder to know where to focus.
The instinct at that point is to hire someone, buy software, or automate. Sometimes those are exactly right. But without understanding what's actually creating the friction, even good solutions produce disappointing results.
So I don't begin with a solution. I begin by understanding your problem. Every recommendation comes from your goals and your constraints, not from selling you software, automation, or AI.
Because solving the right problem is more valuable than solving problems faster.
